moonglow by Maria Francescacupid springs upon us
and some are bound to fall
after autumn leaves
and winter takes all…
she'll tell you it's moonglow
way up in the blue
but you know it's madness
that binds the two of you
caressing her fingers
you'll look in her eyes
and as your gaze lingers
she'll fill your head with lies
you know deep down what she's doing
but the arrow's been shot -
the potion's too hot
to stop brewing
so under the moonglow
she’ll offer her hand
and caution will soon go
to some exotic land
but here’s what you don’t know -
it’s happened before:
some roguish prince charming
passed through her heart’s front door
caressing her fingers
he looked in her eyes
and as her gaze lingered
he filled her head with lies
she found out what he was doing –
her knife went in clean –
and it didn’t seem
like wrongdoing.
so now when there’s moonglow
way up in the blue
the lady goes hunting
for some poor fool like you
01/28/2012 Author's Note: came across a recording of moonglow played by Django Reinhard and wrote this to go with the music.

Posted by George Hoerner on 01/28/12 at 08:17 PM Ah m'lady, your words fill my heart and the minds eye is blind to any lies. So carry me off to any land you choose until you find the replacement for another trip. Nice write. |
