All grown up by Angie JenkinsWhen I was a child
I clung to a nightlight
To protect me from the ghosts and the
Boogeymen and the
Evil of the world
But now that I’m older I keep my
Nightlight in a box in my closet
For I know now that the real monsters
Do not live under my bed
And no amount of light
Will ever protect me from their darkness.

Posted by Jody Pratt on 01/25/12 at 04:26 AM Real monsters? The greatest monster in life is our own fear. Anyone that can overcome their fear completely will never have another monster harm them again. |
Posted by Mo Couts on 01/27/12 at 01:17 AM So true...I find that I thought life was so much easier when monsters supposedly lived under our beds instead of all around us. What a gorgeous write. |
