Goodwill by Joe CramerI stand there,
resplendent
in my Goodwill clothes.
No one knows
the difference,
I suppose.
I smile,
my shy, silly grin
and wonder when
I'll be caught
thusly. I guess I ought
not to even pen this poem...
yet I remain
resplendently
attired, yes,
even admired
by such good will. 12/27/2011 Author's Note: ... I am quite the thrift store devotee.....

Posted by Jody Pratt on 12/27/11 at 09:18 PM Yes you should write this poem because any attention that can be brought to Goodwill is good attention. :) |

Posted by Nicole D Gregory on 12/28/11 at 02:30 AM This could/should make you the GoodWill Ambassador! Loved the mood it put me in. Hope all in well in your part of the world and you're spreading goodwill to all with your silly grin! ;) ~N |
Posted by Lucia Haselhorst on 12/28/11 at 06:49 AM Secretly you give but does not go unnoticed. Enjoyed your poem. |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 12/28/11 at 07:01 PM I like everything about this. It has a bit of mystery in its reveal about the clothes, humor (goodwill), and a gentle reminder that "new" does not make the man. Our friend's daughter, a hip but very money conscious 27 yr old, can put together a chic outfit regularly from there and other stores like Goodwill. |
Posted by Lori Blair on 12/28/11 at 10:46 PM I think of it this way..those that could know are doing exactly the same thing? :)reminded me of my teen sons that are so focused on what others might think but then they learn..we are all the same, basically! :) Thanks! |

Posted by Rob Littler on 12/30/11 at 03:01 PM Really cheeky on the first read, but there is depth in there when I truly consider what it means to look another in the I of eye's...how all the extraneous fades away in to the will. Be it good or what have you.... |

Posted by Charlie Morgan on 01/01/12 at 09:07 PM ...joe, go sit down...something this weighty takes something outta one. line breakage, tangingly word working ideas with just words...lovingly awesome steps, bub |
