December 25

by Keith D Allison

I wish I had something to munch up on
on this Christmas day
really don't have much to say
no one here anyway
Snow upon the ground
what a great day
wished I had a sleigh
I'd be on my way

But the man of the hour
has already come and gone
bells in the distance
gently ringing
should go and pray

So empty those ringing bells upon cold snow and no one to offer comfort..heartfelt..and well written!

In the first stanza where you say: No one here anyway...wish I had a sleigh I'd be on my way. You sound venturous, go forth! I enjoyed your poem very much. Thank you for sharing.

After surviving many, many Christmases, I doubt a better recipe can be found. Excellent Keith. Thank you.

Very good rhyming pattern between the first and last stanza not to mention the feel of movement in this pleasant piece! And a Happy New Year Keith!

This captures the essence of the season almost in a hurried way, which somehow speaks loads about how this season can overwhelm and provide meaning at the same time.
