Sonata Cantata by Jody PrattWas today Mozart to rise
and craft songs to our lives
would he discard the Orchestra,
favoring dub-step to mandala?
Save the man, peculiar face;
acts like Tesla whilst named Amadeus.
A life in shock, the same tune
in an altered state and place,
whence his music be replaced
with invention over grace.
Instruments encased in history;
a sonata erased musically for,
us to adore his cantata score eternally. 12/20/2011 Posted on 12/21/2011 Copyright © 2024 Jody Pratt

Posted by George Hoerner on 12/21/11 at 12:52 PM One does wonder what people 100 years ago would think if they came into to life today. And then, how will things change in the next 200 or 300 years and what would think? Excellent write. |

Posted by Glenn Currier on 12/26/11 at 06:25 PM I think the young Amadeus and your would have a great time together. Music pulses in your poem - not sure if it is a sonata of some new form invented for a post-modern audience... I enjoyed this. Thanks. |
