to blink is to miss

by Charlie Morgan

i'm suspect; everything i join, touch,
liberate, boost-up, all ends in breaking.

Rod Serling carrying a script, yelling,
"Cut!Cut!Cut!". putting it all together,
i see what's been the matter, the difference.

it's found in the blindness of ignorance.
(as it should be!)

i am happily peering from the edge, enabling me
to see farther and further;
yet as a wonderfully God-made man, breathing the God-breath
my future is pregnant, fecund. though, i am tired.

The title says it all, and the poem manages to say just a little more. I like that kind of contradiction.

Maybe it actually has broken, those pieces, but....oh, what an exquisite mosaic it's been Mr. Morgan!!

"Given tonight, a poet on the edge of the abyss, presented with insight, seeing things he never saw before. A man on a journey, a wonderful one, into the TWILIGHT ZONE..." ( couldn't help the Rod Sterling-esque riff, Charlie. Like the cut of this jib a lot!)

love this Charlie, the title really says it all, and broken pieces are inevitable but give a poet so much more to write about.

Yes, that Rod Serling reference gives this a quirky kind of feel, like I need to watch out what's in the next word. :) I am thankful for hindsight, and personal land fills, and I do like your pregnant words and nature, Charlie. Thanks very much for this!

Absolutely loved this Charlie! To be pregnant..is to be ready for the next unknown edge. We are just that I believe, tired, but ever so thankful for the gifts within life as well as after we pass. I am moved by your words of wisdom, my friend! Thank you
