Shooting Star and a Bottle of Tequila by Kevin FehlenOur hushed secrets rush down the babbling brook, and slip
across our smooth stone lips,
bouncing off shore line ideas that lead to new creeks.
The alcohol wears but the dark of night keeps us drunk
as we float down stream side by side on our river of
confessions and memories we thought long forgotten.
We slip into the depth of the current and are pulled into
the under tow of oblivion as sleep pulls our breath
from our lungs...
To wake with the sun and sand of foggy recollection
and dream like wondering of was it real and did we
really feel the sand between our toes
Or was it simply a wish we both exhaled upon
a shooting star simultaneously and collected
into a bottle of tequila and consumed uninhibitedly? 11/29/2011 Posted on 11/29/2011 Copyright © 2025 Kevin Fehlen
