Universal Endings

by Craig Allen

The stars begin to wink out.
The bright blue twinkle of your eye that is Sirius
The Pleiades, your musical laugh, seven pinpoints
popping to nothing one at a time as the music dies.
Betelgeuse, the red giant of your smoldering anger.
And Mira, your variable heart.
One after another they blink out.
Only darkness remains.

i like this, to me it talks about the dying of love, leaves me sad, in that darkness, but love the vivid images of the universe.

...and does this person know they are entwined in your imagination with the heat-death of the universe? Answer: well, they do, now...a fine write and a pleasure to read...lk
