Time crunching

by Shannon McEwen

Tick tock says the clock
It’s time to go
Your shift is over
Put your ducks in a row

But wait yells the clock
You’re late, you’re late
Get back to work
Or the boss’ll be irate

Back to the grind
But stay far behind
That invisible line
Drawn in hoursglass sand

Tick tock says the clock
And the man in the moon
Whispers softly sweet
“Just how often do you
Cry yourself to sleep”

I like the way you wove the cliches into a cohesive piece of work. :)
