The Faded Quilt by Kevin FehlenLay here next to me,
I'll hold onto your hopes and dreams
Wrapped up tight in quilted memories.
I'll wipe away your tears,
Salt water fears,
Soaked in whiskey melancholy.
We'll stay warm against
The windy whispers of regrets
Lashing against window panes
Let me kiss away your
Sorrow filled sighs, an
Exhalation of lonesome nights
Tonight we'll sleep soundly on ocean waves
Rocking back and forth
On our flotsam optimism
Lay here next to me,
I'll listen to your inner child pleas
Echoing in caves of forgotten schemes.
I'll hold onto your hopes and dreams
Wrapped up tight in quilted memories. 10/22/2011 Posted on 10/22/2011 Copyright © 2025 Kevin Fehlen

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 10/22/11 at 07:57 PM You've woken up this quilt, the layers rich with all the life it holds. This is the first work of yours that I've read. Welcome to Pathetic, Kevin. :) Looking forward to your library. |

Perhaps this poem woke up all the quilts. It made me feel the wrapping. Warm. |
