Song of the Gamelan (a revision)

by Clara Mae Gregory

The shadow puppets

dance on the

timbre

of the song

of the Gamelan.

Toe tapping rhythms

lance the light

amber

in a Ballroom

of glass

where shadow puppets

absorb the resonance

of metal chambers

made of brass,

hostages

of the puppeteer's

grasp.

Effective synthesis of light and sound -- good to ride your waves again Clara...

You honor the gamelan beautifully. One of my favorite instruments... And with your music talent, I'm certain you know these sounds through first-hand experience. Good to see your writing, love
