remind me

by Shannon McEwen

Let’s close the curtains
Shut off the sun
Pull back the covers
And have some fun

A pillow fight
Mirth takes flight
And love replenishes
Regains its sight

Take me back to that first kiss
Lip to lip let’s make a wish
To remember to pause
And sometimes rewind

Love me soundly
Before pulling tight
Breathe in this peace
That makes it right

As I drift to sleep
Look into my eyes
Keep my soul together
Mend these broken ties

Forget life beyond the door
Shadows cross the walls
Scattered clothes litter the floor
And love restored once more
