Saturday morning by Keith D AllisonWhere has it gone
Snow upon the mountain
clouds hanging gray
leaves such an empty feeling
before the pumpkin has its say
Buying me a ticket
give me a dream
in a world that is empty
need to feel the warmth
within
Can't feel the light in my eyes
Will the sun rise again
the mysteries in gray
Will there be a trumpet
someday
Words oh words
Gray the deep empty of the mind
no melody no song
only pain lets tears flow on
no lyrics no rhyme
just the silence
is mine 10/08/2011 Posted on 10/09/2011 Copyright © 2024 Keith D Allison

Posted by Shannon McEwen on 10/09/11 at 06:00 AM Keith, the raw emotion mixed with vivid imagery is fantastic. The last stanza really hits me in the gut and leaves me feeling it. Thank you for sharing. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 10/10/11 at 10:49 PM Excellent piece of introspection Keith. That first stanza pulled me right in; love the pumpkin part. Both profound and haunting. The title adds much to the effect. Good to read you again! Best, Chris. :o) |
