After the fireworks but before the parade

by Shannon McEwen

Heated kisses and soul searing hugs
Zealous lust the years have tamed
Fireworks turn to less frequent tugs

Where the clock ticks and time shrugs
Looks to memories of lovers famed
Heated kisses and soul searing hugs

Stranded on faded heart shaped rugs
Feeling the momentum softly flamed
Fireworks turn to less frequent tugs

A hectic life where responsibility lugs
Love remains but so often unnamed
Heated kisses and soul searing hugs

Time steals moments like juvenile thugs
Still a heart remains so tightly claimed
Fireworks turn to less frequent tugs

A moment with you so fully drugs
And love is once again aptly renamed
Heated kisses and soul searing hugs
Fireworks turn to less frequent tugs

This was absolutely amazing. Definitely for the favourite list.
