Whispers of autumn

by Keith D Allison

Corn fields
drying
the beans still look green
56 miles
on the raccoon trail

To feel the morning breeze
the Defy light like a feather
makes me feel
like I can fly
over these trails
where the rails did lie

From County County
from town to town
through the tree line tunnel
that hide the fields
I seen a white tail deer
a rider or two

The morning pass quickly
Sweet the memories
of an Iowa ride

I'm hearing some of those whispers, too, I think. Really liked this.

Sounds like a nice place to be right about now.

I think I drive this way daily on route to work..always watching, waiting for the deer to cross the road..but how beautiful, yes? Excellent!
