Bird-Brained

by David Maurice

When you look outside your window
And you see the birds are flocking
Do you wonder what
they're thinking?
Do you wonder if
they're thinking?

When you look outside you window
And you see the people mocking
Do you wonder what
they're thinking?
Do you wonder if
they're thinking?

sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

At least birds act instinctively. Not sure about groups of people. Thought provoking sentiment.

Excellent. Well done! Neat how you've captured the two species in separate but tandem stanzas.

Percept vs. concept. Is it any wonder that conceptual thought is generally senseless? Interesting poem. As far as Quentin's comment goes, mean-spirited humans don't seem to rely on anything but instinct, even if their hostility stems from conceptual nature.

nice rhyming connection between flocking and mocking too! Is there even a difference?

Definitely a nice flow of thought and rhythm. Welcome to Pathetic (please forgive my tardy welcome).
