a brown-eyed girl by Charlie Morgani created you in my mind, you me;
it was the same sky, more blue
for you.
your alien charms, not of the town;
a little brown-eyed girl, a dimple
per cheek; loveliness wrapped in
juvenile cuteness.
an uncertain kiss, snatched but also given,
infatuation sneaked-in, our future blinking
on/off; so far away.
ignorantly, but blessed, i married her;
and like Frost 'that has made all the difference';
she is my life. 09/08/2011 Posted on 09/08/2011 Copyright © 2024 Charlie Morgan

Posted by Glenn Currier on 09/14/11 at 06:30 AM I had to read this one even though I had logged off from my latest posting - just glanced over and saw your name (as usual - in the top ten). That last stanza captures it for me and my brown-eyed girl. Thanks for this delight, Chaz. It makes me want to hug you. |
Posted by Tony Whitaker on 09/14/11 at 09:45 AM Ya know Charlie, one thing I have missed about this site is reading the great writers here. I realized a long time ago your writing intrigues me like Cormac MacCarthy's. I enjoy going back and re-reading your words as they cause such introspection. “Between the wish and the thing the world lies waiting.” |
