Metallic Blue

by Alison McKenzie

Lush, green-covered hills,
A carpeted stage for
Orchids and wild lilies
Who dip and sway,
Demure performance in a perfect wind.
They lure the bees,
Calm an ocean audience,
Metallic blue applause;
Melon painted sky.

She floats on these,
Lullaby hush
Dreamscape visions,
Larger than life,
Fluid in reason,
Solid intention,
Twist and swirl.

Chimes tinkle, effervescent.
Strings weep, mark the solitude.
And flutes, away, hurry
To catch the last evening breath.

She laughs
Melodius.
She watches,
Captive;
Conspires with the air
To sustain her
Flight.
