XI - Awake O Sleeper!

by Austin Halling-Rowe

It is as though I've lived forever.
And in this sense 'tis proved;
I am of everything that ever was,
Before me, incarnate now I move
And breath and thrive and pry about
And marvel at life's lonesome sojourn.
Like mid-day breezes rise and spout
In their becoming, then fall as they
Return to where they—I—began.
And every act and every thought
Noble or defamed is now within
My form, my essence, my soul.
Awake, o sleeper, to all minds inward,
That guide you in your crossings outward.
