For the Girl Who Caught My Eye by Kate ZimmermanYou make me at a loss for words
Wandering through the alphabet
Trying to piece together syllables
Sounds that describe
The sweep of your cheek
The curve of your smile
Sending shivers down my fingers
Tingling as I pick and choose
Like so many paper flowers
Endless folds of origami
Elegantly original- like you
Dancing with descriptions
Mulling over metaphors

Posted by Richard Vince on 07/09/11 at 10:25 AM oh, i've written poems while feeling like that, barely able to hold my pen steadily enough to write. this takes me right back to being a lovestruck teenager. very evocative. :) |
