but, you know that

by Charlie Morgan

we serve a purpose, what it is
we don't know...but a purpose.
reality shows on tv assist us
in escaping reality, see?

steven segal is Beluga roe and
i am fodder to build the earth.
my mama was simplicity in beauty,
while the Hoff is AA-approved.

like flint-sparks lasting a nano-second,
the fire it starts could last forever;
a bull ride lasts 8 seconds, but the spurs
have to rake the front shoulder, just right.

the Truth is as escapable as a tape-worm,
and just as revealing. but, you know that.

The idea that I get from this and that I love is how life is lived in the now and the significant events sometimes occur in seconds. All the more reason to notice and to write about them... because who knows how many seconds we have left. We might not get a third. Thanks, Chaz. This is brilliant.

Charlie, you are incredible with your metaphoric imagery....I love it...this is great....every line

ah, Charlie, what i know ain't worth an 8-second bull ride at Mickey Gilley's...but on the other hand, sir, what you know and see is vast and wonderful, metaphorically
