another door

by Charlie Morgan

death is another door. just that.
drop what we're doing. we walk away.

get in the line that belongs to Jesus;
prepared to wait forever, if it takes it.

as legal guardian, He'll have to take me.
i look back at my tests of strength and

i stand amazed at my life vs His Life;
no comparison. am i forgetting something?

'til then, i'll sit like Cochise in pow-wow
and draw in ths sand like Jesus. who knows?

I love the perspective and acceptance in this piece, Charlie. The first stanza is the most powerful for me. I should put it on my mirror as a reminder each day of the swiftness with which this door might open on any given day.
