On Belly Dancing

by Joe Cramer

To watch you dance, and yet
softly swaying with castanet,
hips shaking, sliding,
gliding, providing
me with such a fine view.
My thoughts are all askew.
I want to touch your belly
with my tongue
as your long dark hair sways
before me. My knees become jelly
before you. I adore you,
loving this dance
that never was.
I am but Fortune's Fool.
I never took the chance.

Author's Note: ... you said that your husband would probably kill me... so I ran away.....

Good poem, and good judgement running away from the murderous husband =)

Great story. Expertly told.

I like how this could have gone in any direction, and was surprised, but equally enjoyed how it ended. Sometimes it's better to run. I agree with Gabriel...expertly told.

This is both adorably cute and very sensual at the same time. I even think the Author's Note adds to the poem. Great writing Joe!

Clever poem! About the author's note....I'll bet she never said that.
