I can be the one you want someday.

by Aaron Blair

I am looking for someone to tell me I deserve it.
Love or hate, either one is fine.
I'll be easily convinced of one and grateful for the other,
and you will never meet another girl so eager to swallow
the poison or the elixir, only ever wanting
whatever you are willing to give.
The pages of my skin are blank for you.
The bowl at the base of my skull is empty and waiting.
I can be anything you want me to be,
as long as you never expect me to be whole.

This is the winner, as far as I'm concerned.

Your poem speaks of loneliness and a desperate search for meaning. Well done.
