"Toxicity"

by Max Phineas

You've been a slow-acting poison
drenched in honey
Gaseous
An ether I live to breathe
A smoking habit I refuse to kick.
I forget the taste of pure oxygen;
You are a sweet sickness that plays on my nerves
Leaving me dizzy, too light on my feet.
So for now I rest in the haze.

You've got quite a talent for cutting to the chase in so few lines. Pen with knife - that's what I need. I can feel the gas and love that last line.
