Cui Bono?

by Clara Mae Gregory

Cui bono.....

when one becomes

obsolescent and old,

more freckled than tan

with newly formed moles.

And what's that?

Another age spot

superseding surrender

before the mind goes.

Cui bono.....

when we forget to remember

our past that's disposed,

sedated in timed slumber,

laid inside our molecules.

Very well done. The middle stanza says it all. One of your best.
