VI - Goodbye.....Forever?

by Austin Halling-Rowe

March, dear friend, to your hopeful fate,
Goodbye can never be forever,
Though knots unravel and bonds terminate,
What has been can leave me never.
Love sworn now must bitterly content,
And though 'till mortal death did not us part
'Tis death to grant farewll's consent!
For vows of words became vows of heart
In your consuming absence.
Now my last duty born of regret,
Bids you release in torn deference,
To barter scorn for your sweet respect.
For adverse, to lose your high regard, death is worse
And to keep it, parted, I am forever cursed.
