Mother Earth

by Kristine Briese

We pluck her forbidden fruit
Yet she holds us in her wounded womb
Protecting us from ourselves

I love the thought, though I think her protection of us is quickly losing its umph.

Dear Kristine; You've shared monumental insight in a very limited space. I'm not sure when the mantel of 'Mother' was added but it could hardly have been more appropriate. Recognize it or not we are all nurtured by her all the days of our lives. Sam

Very Nice Images. The natural order of things has a way of making corrections, that we humans cannot affect or control.

Kristine--I love your word choices here--"pluck" so simply discript of our greed and disregard, and yet we are safe in that "womb", nutured despite it all. It all sounds vaguely familiar...in a Christ centered kind of way:)-- Great job!

i think she'll keep protecting us as long as she can, but who knows how much longer that will be if we continue the path we're on... fantastic write as always

NICE! :) I haven't seen you do this style much. It's a great snapshot.
