8/30 five Haiku

by E. A. Pugh

Hyacinth fragrance
Graceful glory of Gods will
Green green abundant earth

I am sticks and green
I keep my flowers unseen
I rustle in wind

Spring water fills me
Frogs speak to lovers in me
Summers heat dries me

Worms on the sidewalk
Hermaphrodite went to far
Looking for a mate

Plant cutting takes root.
Humanity roots in love,
or at least it should.

That second stanza is my favorite by far. It's just a weird, wonderful image.

Dear E.A.; Your 5 haiku is ever so well done. Each verse compliments the others. I've tried the form many times, never with half the success that you have exhibited here. Just beautiful. Sam
