Deaf gods of Babylon

by James Blaylock

Deaf gods of Babylon

a fine find was found,
and the white bones
spoke of ages past...

although their glory
was nothing dreamt,
nothing desired either

as they had the sweat
and worry of time spent,
and breathing too fast

everything was far from
being perfect, and their
gods were all unhearing

I like the idea of letting the bones speak of their past. I especially like the line "everything was far from perfect". and unhearing gods. Very thought provoking. Thank you.
