I - In Thoughts Erased

by Austin Halling-Rowe

This form that lays hearts gladly open,
And consigns to one another faith,
To chance may grant now bliss, now woe;
Might times leave one or both abased.
What first engaged, may last repel,
Or once had dwells oft' in thoughts erased.
So part if parting bound when form can't true,
And give it no more hurt ponderence.
Conserve your sky from bluster's mood;
Forsake persist for plain persistence.
Cast off! For here lacks snug portage
To find your leeward bays contentment,
And if by lot fortune grants one tranquil mile,
Searching back you'll see my fond smile.

Beautiful, sincere words. Very nicely done.
