Be Easy, Rockstar

by V. Blake

i will wrap myself in blankets and metaphors
and tell everyone it's armor.
i will sit here, against all better judgment,
and figure out exactly how long it takes
for pain to become nostalgia.

all i know
is that there was a moment
when the buzz of a modem
turned into music,
and no one i know
can guess when it happened.

and for whatever it's worth,
i have never once
fallen out of love in my life.
but do not doubt that i find it
every
single
day.

worlds and worlds
pass me by.
all i do is smile.

"i will sit here, against all better judgment, and figure out exactly how long it takes for pain to become nostalgia."--You may be sitting there for a while. Great read.

"i will wrap myself in blankets and metaphors and tell everyone it's armor." From start to finish this is a great read. smh

This can't be fully absorbed with one or a few reads. Turn the volume to 11, and rock on wood.

I've missed your poems, Vince, and sure hope you'll keep on posting. xoxoxo "Be Easy!"

Your second and third stanzas are my absolute favorite, Sir Blake. This is easily a new favorite, which you already know.

if i could pinpoint that moment when modem dial turned symphonic, i would and i'd let you know as soon as i found it. i dig this a lot, i've been feeling nostalgic lately and this captured that state of being quite well.

I never tire of reading your poetry, the 3rd stanza is the most powerful to me, but cohesively, it is a homerun! You never disappoint, a fav for me! Thank you, peace, jewels

Hey Vince. That first stanza did it all for me. The rest, icing on the cake.

the 3rd stanza of this awesome piece really knocked it home for me.
