Answering the Asked Questions

by James Blaylock

Answering the Asked Questions

test me, I'm so use to being

toyed with about my knowing,

ask your questions and find my answers;

be they pure genius or merely mundane...

I never claimed Einstein, nor any other

human, as the fuel for my brains' power,

it's simply live and learn or learning to try living

but never losing all my hope and sadly dying

James, I like that this is so self-revelatory. I identify as a poet. We give our answers in verse - a language that is foreign to most. Sometimes I think those whose poetry is in their lives rather than words encounter our language as if it were a delicate cactus that they can look at from afar but not touch nor allow it to touch them. Every stanza tells me something interesting and helpful. No Einstein for Fuel. And that last line really hits home. I identify with this poem more than any other I've had an opportunity to read in your ever happily expanding library.
