With all our hearts falling in spring showers

by E. A. Pugh

In a deluge of showers
outside daffodil flowers
we are warn inside
dogs bark
cinnamon buns in the oven
cinnamon chips in the double boiler
a sweet treat for you,
my babies.

Fledgling humans play upstairs
playing puppy is a favorite pretend.
Little pretend puppy jumps
to lick me
and say I love you.
He is the puppy
she is the pups owner
his name is sweetie pie.

They love me with all their hearts
and for that I give them mercy
as I prepare them for adulthood.

Delightful - the cinnamon aroma is all the way to me and the laughing voices. Thanks for this.
