All or Nothing

by Jeffrey Parren

Eighty percent
is more difficult
than 100%.

The mindset
that going halfway
is somehow okay
does not resonate.

I'd rather invest everything
with the potential to lose it
than go part of the way
to never know the true value
or what could have been lost.

A life of ifs
is far too easy
by far too prevalent
in this current world
to go without conviction.

I guess the only issue
is that when you go 100%
then lose it all,
how does one ever
go back to that 100%
within that subject?

I'd like to be the one
to supply an answer,
but sadly,
I'm nothing
within the regards of love.

this poem resonates and should to all who fully immerse themselves within and without its context, which philosophically speaking has all its burners working.
