Misplaced

by Jody Pratt

I lost all hope one time, one time
thought I'd lost my mind.
I couldn't find my watch, my watch
had only lost the time.

I looked in the mirror, the mirror
had a look of surprise.
I saw the look on my face, my face
saw the look in my eyes.

I recall how dumb I was, I was
a total disgrace.
I finally found my watch, my watch
was stuck to my face.

I like the jab at the end there. It's just a great line.

Isn't it so strange that we can lose ourselves so easily while most believe they see us for what we are? Excellent!!

I love this ode. I love the metaphor. I love the line, my watch had only lost the time.
