Angels in Oceanside by Maria Francescathere's angels in up in Oceanside
they're standing on the beach
and longing for a sunset
that's always out of reach.
they're restless there, in Oceanside;
perhaps you'd understand -
for eons they've been waiting there
with loafers full of sand.
each morning blossoms new for us -
for them it's cracked and old;
we bask beneath the glowing sun -
they shiver in the cold.
we build our castles on the shore,
we frolic in the foam;
the angels wring their hands and cry -
they're longing to go home.
there's angels up in Oceanside
they're stranded on the beach
and longing for a sunset
that's forever out of reach.
