Drinking Sunday (a repost,slightly revised)

by Clara Mae Gregory

Life is an anomaly
forcing the annullment of
physicality's perfections.

Forgiving the fog
that houses the flaws,
appeasing a gulf-

Animosity bids farewell
to the lost potential,
in a dead acorn.

Very interesting. I love all the images. The last stanza is biting.

Great phrasing and time to this. So much said here. Great work.

Perfection is a word I have come to resent. The word "fog" stands out for me - especially as it relates to "physicality" - which is an increasingly painful issue for me as my body's aging process seems to be accelerating. I really don't want to talk about it. Which is why I should. So your poem is VERY meaningful to me at this point and I appreciate its honesty. Thanks, Beautiful.

Teasing the mind to think a little more deeply about life. It surely is more than physicality. And animosity changes nothing but to one's own detriment.
