Life is Music by Alison McKenzieThe tones skip and flit,
Dancing in and out of one another,
In and out of harmonies,
Dissonances,
Linger in dissolution
Until they hang,
Melodiously suspended
In cadent measures
Until the resolution rolls in,
Brings calm and joy to the score.
Balance and peace reign again.
There is music all around us,
Not just in fingers struck to string
Or breaths set across the valleys.
My Sun rose to a crescendo this morning
Out on the water
Until the escalating resonance
Closed my eyes,
Concurred with the waves,
Stole me to other dimensions,
Laid me to rest again in the sand.
Words painted across continents
Symphonize too,
Become entangled,
String our souls toward consortion
In a dazzle-dance meant for magic
A realm marked for joy
Light,
And infinite journeys.
