#8 - archetypal monsters

by Linda Fuller

archetypal monsters and those of their ilk
dwell in reticulate perilous silk
armed to the eyeteeth with venomous milk

intently loitering, eight knobby knees
taking a swing on arachnoid trapeze
preying like mantises, stinging like bees

laidback, phlegmatic and not quick to anger
noshing on flies like the Brits with their bangers
leaving their molts like blasé doppelgängers

#8 for monsters with 8 legs. Fun read as always Linda. Clever construction/expression. 8 also happens to be my spiritual number.
