I Am NOT A Toy

by Joan Serratelli

I am Not a toy
You cannot take
me out,
play with my emotions
and put me
on a shelf

I am a HUMAN BEING
I have feelings
You have no respect
for my wishes

I DO exist
I am not here
for your amusement

Sounds like a bad case of CPS "Circus Performer Syndrome", where one individual requires another to perform on demand. No known cure.

I sure hope you find a cure just as I hope my oldest girl does to her plight. She has at least started to open her eyes. Good write lady.

I'm amazed at how people use other people - little children made into beauty queens, dogs dressed up like clown people, adults who manipulate others - I like your use of the word "toy" - I had not thought of it quite that way. Thank you.
