Frosty Faces by Jody PrattThrough shudders and window panes I see the glossy streets,
paved with nothing more than gentle frost and trotting feet.
Shadows form the sky and cape the Earth in black,
and restless trees shudder at the winds that touch their back.
Mini-chandelier's jingle at the doorways of some homes,
while others feature welcome signs and even garden gnomes.
Little children drape themselves in masks and canny clothes.
Trying to impress adults to feed their baggies full.
Tonight they'll lay down tired from all the haste,
content as a child can be with sweetness on their face. 05/20/2006 Posted on 12/29/2010 Copyright © 2024 Jody Pratt
