Poem of the Day 11/24/10 (Thoughts about Space)

by A. Paige White

It is a place left as a reminder for me, how a little baby boy
born today, six years ago, brought me the awareness
that poems can breathe, and cry
fill a space you never knew was empty before you read it...
they can master their new birthday bike in one day
(without training wheels!)
my favorites do.

11/24/2010

Author's Note: I borrowed Marie's idea and title and knew immediately the only poem that could write itself in that empty space for me was remembering it is my oldest grandson's birthday today.
Happy Birthday, Logan! Nanny loves you and is so proud of you!

Good thing you did. Your own thoughts on this concept are as rich and fascinating as hers.

I love this ode and I don't ask why. I just do, the qualities of which are easy on the eyes, not to mention every sleep part which it revives with its heart.
