set free

by Charlie Morgan

i'm at sea and asea; bliss
trails behind me as i clamor,
for truth. reinforcements

to my perceptions, my reality;
and it ne'er appears; this life
belies itself of worth, value.

we trod passersby and nod.
each a King in his own mind.
what glory, the selfish gene.

still in embryonic state,
humanity can only swim
within a universal petrie dish.

the bright light hurts my eyes.

We are, all, each other. If that is ever seen in its entire truth, I can't help but think we will then be unable to cast harm on "other"....there is no "other". Your reference to us being in a petrie dish made me think of that perspective, that, just as the total of my cells make up "me", so is the earth just one of the cells that make up "all that is". I get such a clear image of you "clamoring for truth" and the bright lights hurting your eyes. It's a strange time to be alive, for sure.

Your DNA's all over this experiential evidence Chaz; did this inherit from the previous? Phenotypically acute...

I do love the image of humanity in a petri dish, Charlie...a line that makes me think is a poem that's done its job.

You still make me think, even from the beyond, Charlie. Thanks for that.
