where's my Waldo?

by Charlie Morgan

was it my Timex or are days getting shorter?
my bones more brittle? my veins more prominent?

it is this way that something's coming? going?
dry ice smoke makes it so ethereal, surreal.

an Angel always going towards devilish ways
will be my undoing; i yearn to no longer yearn.

i ask the Sun to bump the horizon, hurry.
it's cold outside, Nuclear Winter's here.

and what about the others, less informed;
there'll be no one left to love, to crave.

only Tin Men who never went to see Oz
but squeaked none the less are my friends;

where's a Lion and a Scarecrow that'll bring
me back, thru the flowery fields to home?

It seems the 24 hours we used to know have been squeezed into another shorter day becoming even shorter as Einstein was force to move faster and faster toward the rim. But it matters not my friend we shall jump into the future. Another good write.

I just love this one Charlie. From the first line, reminding me of swapping stories in front of the place where I recently quit working about the Ward's brothers nicknamed Timex and Rolex... lol. "nuclear winter's here.." thought provoking and so very well written. Highest marks and my pick for POTD. Keep 'em coming darlin! I find myself hanging on every word.

"i ask the Sun to bump the horizon, hurry." - my fav line in this, for sure. I also enjoyed the squeaking friends, the dry ice smoke, the whole Oz group of friends. Thanks, Charlie!
