the other something by Charlie Morganthis morning i had a cat in my brain
clawing and screeching, and i'm a dog-person
my GPS was set for Beijing or the donut shop.
eating at me were the fates; not the Greek Moirai;
but the fates of spiney lobsters off the coast
of the Bahamas, and their bout with trigger fish.
so as i donned my patience hat for travel,
i ordered soft-shell crab at Red Lobster;
my wikipedia clicked to the word "irony".
all faded into a swampy morass of my life;
how could a sad divorce make me happy?
as a titanic of waves washed above me.
somehow it will be as it should. 10/24/2010 Posted on 10/24/2010 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by Glenn Currier on 10/31/10 at 01:02 PM I too like the cat in the brain... it reminds me of a recent rendering of our Florida Brother... You were traveling in this piece - as you are wont to do. I love tagging along - a fellow vagabond. The last lines pack a wallop and have me wondering-wandering. It is good to be back to your library - been gone too long - needed a dose of Chaz today. Thanks. |
