Obsolete Obituaries

by V. Blake

hello, hollow heroes, and happy Halloween;
come sing songs of all the skeletons
best left buried in between
the scarlet auspices of autumn
and the grieving of the green,
as graffiti in the graveyard
sirens sinners to the scene,
where we welcome weary wanderers,
left less-lucid in the light,
and embrace each and every egress
of knaves into the night,
for if forty winks fulfills ya
and dawn delights your sight,
may chemicals confound ya,
till spirits spend their spite.

Love this. Makes me want to go back to Salem, MA, if only for a day or two.
