monster (w/nate mcd) by Morgan D Hafelecracked the door, speared the light
freed the monster, unleashed the night...
rage and fury blind the eyes
to hasten death the foes surprise
the cage in ashes the echoes remain
the scared reality of fears insane
darkness calls in shadows still
the patient evil of ancient will
torture brings the light anew
and hope asunder a spark to few
the tempest builds in shake and shudder
a driven silence madness another
the chains are shaken they cannot hold...
burst of violence heavy and cold
days of thunder bring the rain
drown myself in drinks of grain
numbing beauty pumps through these veins
this throbbing disgust leaves nothing to gain
a hungry fire is set deep inside
burning into a new sense of right
an endless storm and swelling sea
hopeless sun rises in a blackened east
a taste of your flesh still on my tongue
shots through my soul your smoking gun
sickness rises and falls on the floor
forgetting you walking out the door
to send hell climbing up my walls
you win this round but i'll never fall
i'll stumble back to a life divine
and leave you crawling wretched and blind. 09/14/2010 Author's Note: took me a while to post this one, i've been running behind on everything lately it seems...

| Posted by Glenn Currier on 12/19/10 at 01:42 AM Oh gees! This is a torrent, a whirlwind of feelings and action that absolutely got me caught up in it. I like the cacophony for the senses: the shades of darkness, the feel of the water, the taste of the skin, the heat, the internal and external movement. So much here to take in. I know I will need more than these few gulps. Thanks for a great piece, Morgan and Nate. |
| Posted by Tony Whitaker on 12/24/10 at 06:53 PM Wow. I am not a lover of rhyming poems since they are, more than not, forced. But this flowed as smooth as goat lips and I sipped these words which so eloquently soared me above the tides upon your magic carpet ride! |
