A-Z by Angie JenkinsAny emotion is
Better than that of the
Constant feeling of withdrawal and
Disconnection from your friends and even
Enemies; the persistent
isolation from even the
Ghosts of once
Happy memories, all while
Knowing full well that you can’t go back;
Living amongst dreams and
Wistful thoughts as companions;
Never truly
Opening yourself up to your true
Potential, but instead merely focusing on the past,
Questioning motives and meanings of
Romances lost and never again
Salvaged.
These should instead be times of
Uprising and the recreation of once lost self-
Value; however, it may take
Weeks, months, years to finish
X-raying yourself for the reasons why
You cannot seem to un-
Zip this unfulfilling skin that you have so willingly encased yourself in.

Posted by Charlie Morgan on 09/03/10 at 12:34 AM ...angie i see some of what you did [wonderfully] with the alphabet; 'tis not easy to "get" the words moving when you frame yourself into parameters such as you did; this is one strong poetic work. it's really from a to z, so well named, so inclusive of life's drama. touche! i bow. |
Posted by George Hoerner on 10/06/10 at 12:36 PM Another one I missed. Nicely done Angie from one who took nearly 70 years to get unzipped. |
Posted by Jody Pratt on 01/17/12 at 01:34 AM I like the upside down M. Powerful message as per usual (from what of yours I've seen.) I've done plenty of x-raying over the past 15 years or so. |
