Seeing You by George Hoernerand seeing you
come into the room
entering after a full
day on your feet
after raising four children
(Desiree, Matt, Lauren and me)
you look tired
and you are
everything
put upon you
over the years
the kids, moving,
and worst of all me
yet you survive
because that is
who you are
yet it does
ware you down
but a glass of whine
a dog curled
in your lap asking
nothing but pets
in exchange for love
and somehow
you survive
another day
